I wanna do summers only, cuz all season performance does nothing.... i am riding on bf goodrich super sports, and they make autox shit. so i figure maybe if i get a good wheel and tire combo, i might have a chance at placing?
any suggestions? i just need to find a place to store em...
I still have my doubts about these fitting, but i am willing to try it since more experienced people say it works. and they cheap.. and about half the weight of stock svt rims.
The one thing i hate, no offense... is bright color rims. i mean if its the color of your car, thats cool. but dont do something ugly. just saying....
for me color of "racing wheels" is kinda cool. i mean it sets your car out and make ppl watch you....... there are a lot of ppl in the area that i am about to run is like a lime green...... a lot of ppl run them but its getting "old" in some ppls eyes... i think a highlighter yellow would be cool or a highlighter pink would be cool too......... find a color that is fun to run with and then choose a tire that is good. if you are a "newbie" to autocrossing then i would suggest a less sticky tire that will allow the car to move a little... then you can add sticyness to your tire as you gain confidence in your car and in yourself.... once you know what your car can do then start adding slowly to your car.... a lot of ppl think that you need the stickiest tire you can find.... well if it is then you are going to overcompensate then maybe go off course.... start light and see what your car can handle with tires and yourself.... then start adding things to help out. also take your first run slow... stay on course, then as runs go on add speed. see what you can actually handle and what your car might handle.... so for tires... see what you can do. if you are into auto-x and have done it before go for a little stickier then see what it can do... FWDs you should only need two sticky tires being your traction under power and turning.... good luck man... i am hopefully starting this year
no... I work on central ave... Meijer. why do you ask?
and only 2 sticky tires? ehh i will just get a summer set, so i can get new wheels for them.
also, when get my tires, i am gonna go on a date with them. drive around for like half an hr, and make a parking lot run or two, just to see what they can do.

@CGEO30 - > Yes the SVT does run with 17" wheels ... but many of the SVT AutoXers change that to 16s and if they can find it 15s.
@lildude1989 - > are you still worried that the 16" rims won't fit your SVT? I wouldn't be. Like many of the SVT drivers can tell you ... 16s fit just fine. The only thing to make sure you check before ordering the wheels is that the offset is between 40-49 ... the SVT Stock 17s are 49+ offset.
No stupid questions here ... everyone here is to help teach and learn.
So, to understand you are asking how the 16s fit our cars?
Well the 17s have quite some gap from the Caliper to the inner side of your rim. The 16s will close that gap more and still be able to clear the Caliper, rotor and brakes.
When I get mine in I can take a photo and show you.
Ah I see that makes sense why I've never seen your car because I'm here the other 9mo of the year. Do you autox in the nwor then? I ran with them once but never had time to go more than the one time in this region.
i do, i am gonna try to make all events this season. you will see me around.... chances are in summer you will hear me before ya see me, if ya know what i mean.
lo, my exhaust is so loud.... and i wanted a sleeper.... but also, my sound system is the biggest investment i have made yet. Next to the rims and tires.
so these wheels. if i buy em, you think belle will let me ship em there and put em on for me, or have me bring em in, cuz idt they would be able to get em.
