What brand and name of soap do you use to wash your car?
If your brand isnt listed, post what brand you use.
Dont forget to post your thoughts on the soap and why you perfer it over the other brands that you have tried. []
Meguiar's Deep Crystal for me. Does pretty good, but I haven't tried many others to compare it to other than Armor All....the Meguiar's does better than the Armor All IMO.
Mr clean advance car wash sytem........... no water spots. And I have a Black Focus and having no water spots is a big deal to me. I have also used Eagle one products, they are good too.
Mequiars Deep Crystal for me. It's cheap and works so, so, well. No residue and it treats my wax good. Ask anyone in Washington and they can tell you....my ride always looks good []
i use what ever is quick and easy with a good name on it, as i pollished and preped cadys and trans ams for a while at a dealer ( those people acted like they paid 50k for a car or something ) i learned the paint protectant the dealer puts on over the clear coat is the most important thing u can have after that wax every season and do it twice, wash wax wash wax then its goos for a season... and i made offf witha few bottles of paint protectant and spend a day coating every one i buy in the first week so i know it is there and i got under all the weater striping and all the door jams and around all the gaps in the body profile and the inside of the trunk and hood and door kick plates 3 times
i got a BIG VERBAL SPANKING for not doing it that way once and have never changed that method
look out for hard water and too much soap and abrasive cleaners/ sponges, rags, towels anything you are touching the car with and take you time
I use whatever the coin-operated wash uses [].....I have a whole gallon of Meguiars NXT wash, but I don't have a hose, so I have to use the coin-operated washes.......
I clean my car so much that I rarely wash it.....maybe 10 times in a year......
as long as I have Meguiars' quick detailer, I'm good []
I only wash it when I have dirt from after long trips/heavy rain and waterspots.....
I use Adam's Polishies car wash. It's a nice thick soap that gives you great suds and coverage. I know people that work for Meguiar's and even they say if your not using Gold Class or NXT (which is the same quality as Adam's) it sucks. I use Adam's on show and magizine cars and they look perfect like the paint is colored glass.
I buy my stuff from a place called 4 star products. He actually makes all the soapes and waxes in house so what I use is basically formulated for what i want, the guys is like a scientist knowing all the chemicals and what they do. Its kinda cool.

I did because I am a detailer just like you, I know that you work for a shop that only uses Meguiar's so your gonna say they are the best as to not make your shop look bad. I used Meguiars GC for years but got feed up with there products being difficult to use in some enviroments. So I started trying other products and found Adam's and from customer feed back they all like the shine and longevity of Adam's over Meguiar's GC. I have yet to find a time when Adam's wax or polish was difficult to remove in any enviroment. Plus I have never had a single complant about Adam's products but got a few about Meguiar's GC from both customers and possible customers asking what products I use.
I got Mr. Clean Auto car wash for my b-day last year, and i really like it.
My question though, would it be worth the money to use that to soap my car, then use a bucket of warm water with another brand of soap in it with a sponge. So as to get the benefits of both? Or is that just a little redundant?
Well about the Mr. Clean Auto Wash. If you want to use quaility products on your car then use quaility products! If you just want a clean looking car then Mr. Clean will be fine. If you want to take ownership of you car finish then you need to spend the time washing your car by hand with products you know are safe on you car. And as for a sponge, use a Real lambswool wash mit.
