Unhappy how do u know ur clutch is bad?

I don't think there's a post like this soo anyway.....

So I thought that if ur clutch is bad then u then u have to push it al the way down.t..right? To engage it like so it don't jerk... but the past few days its like way at the top so I hardy have to push the clutch is this bad and is there any adjustments?

My car is a 2002svt

Please any input

You are always supposed to have your foot touching the floor board (pushing the pedal all the way to the floor) when disengaging the clutch between shifts.

A few sure fire signs that something is either out of alignment or the clutch is shot would be that it does not engage until the last portion of travel on the way up, and or that the rpms spike while driving as the clutch disk slips when you go to try and rev the car up.

This is what's happening I do push all the way down but as I'm coming up it don't grab till top 2 inches and somtims mi feel my car jerk a lil going up hil

If your clutch is worn it won't be able to transfer all the engine power to the transmission. The RPMs will shoot up with lots of throttle, but you won't accelerate.

thanks and I think I better get another clutch its not reving up but I think it slips a little like I said b4 I think.. well I guess ima drop a grand in my car... and I also need to fix my ac hold crap its hot here... anyone know bout AC's LOL

prob do clutch myself don't know shit bout AC tho :(

Once it starts slipping in the high gears, THEN it's shot. If you aren't seeing that yet, you can put off the clutch for a while...

On the A/C, there's a "stickie" you can find at the top of this page by "whynotthinkwhynot" that details most A/C info you might need....
