I got the car back from the painter and it looked pretty nice but it needed a bit more cutting and buffing in some spots. This has probably been my least favorite part of the project so far (damn Florida heat!!!) but it looks like it's paying off. I've been wet sanding from 2000 up to 5000 grit. Buffing has been pretty easy after that. "Like a mirror" is an accurate description. Check out the bike hanging from my ceiling!

I'm expecting to get some parts in on Monday. Stay tuned for some updates!

Slooooooooow progress.

The painter didn't get good coverage on some areas (really light coverage of base coat, clear coat, or BOTH!). So we repainted a couple panels ourselves using left over material. It turned out looking pretty good. Here are some recent photos. We should have the grille and bumpers on very soon.

There were a couple of spots in the paint that we weren't real happy with. Minor issues really, but he wanted this to be right. But in this heat and humidity clear coat is hard to do without a climate controlled booth.

We're going to reshoot the trunk lid and cowl panel this weekend when the mornings are supposed to be cooler. In the meantime we can finish mounting the grille, bumpers, lights, and side trim.

It's going to look awesome!
