I Have Been Waiting A Year To Pull The Trigger On My ST. The Time is Now.... Almost

Bought a new house (DONE)
Bought my wife a new Kia Soul (Done)
Paid off my POS 2005 Saturn Ion today (Done)
I have been waiting a year to buy an ST, and my only problem is this. Single income family (I can afford the payments, but if I have a high monthly payment my wife won't stop yelling at me for buying such an expensive car lol)

With a specialized car like this do you guys think there will be any rebate offers on the ST in December? Waiting 7 months would allow me to snake away another 5k or so just for a down payment.

Welcome to the forum

If you can wait and save up more for a down payment then I would do that. The more down payment you have the better. As far as I know there are no rebates for that model. Also if you wait they may make changes to the trim packages like they did the non ST MK3's

Not to be a downer but if you just bought a house, car and have a single income I would wait until one of those two things were paid off. Just know this is coming from someone who can also "afford the payments" and has been waiting for this car since the day Ford hinted at it maybe coming out. But if something financially goes wrong then you wont have any money to take care of that problem. Especially problems with your new home.! Two words for you "Murphy's law"

I'd wait in your shoes, save up that down payment youre talking about which will greatly reduce your monthly car payment, and also the best part will be waiting for the 2014 models to come out, it will possibly cause dealerships to put rebates on 2013 ST's or snag a 2014 if there will be any minor improvements.

There are even a few used ST's to be found as well, plus the longer you wait the more of those you will see. By all means wait, dont get yourself into larger payments if you dont need a car asap.

Another reason to wait is 2nd year bug fixes... All new products go through a final phase of testing - real world testing once they've been released. The ST will undoubtedly have a few minor tweaks and changes resulting from it's first year out and about with real world users.
I'm avoiding the ST and eyeing an SE to take advantage of the rebates and wait for an ST in a couple of years.

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you. We're in the process of buying a house right now, just bought a 2010 Focus for the wife (which will actually save us money over the F150 she was driving), and I just paid off the SVT. We have two sources of income, but mine predominates. We could afford the payments on a brand new car, but it would be tough, especially considering the insurance increase.

As much as I would love to have a new Focus ST, I think I'll have to wait a year or two.
I'm also considering the Fiesta ST, a used Mazdaspeed3, or even buying a cheaper fun car to supplement the SVT. Something like a Miata or RX-8 or Mustang.

I haven't really seen any rebates or incentives on the ST yet. No 0% financing, and only a few cash back deals. Hell some dealers still have markups on them.
