#12 ·
But what can happen? It's hi temp rtv And I don't have any leaks

#14 ·
Thanks :) hey so u think that it will leak?

Not leak but pieces can flake or break off and get stuck in the bearings of the motor or turbo and block a oil passage. None of those is a good thing. Why did you even put it on in the first place doesn't it have a O ring on it already?

#16 ·
Oh ok I don't think is gonna happen I carefully put the rtv in the sandwich and nope it didn't came with a o ring

Yeah it was weird :s but it doesn't leak at all and I carefully put the rtv were the o ring should go I'm tuning the car next Wednesday hopefully (finger cross) the only thing is that I have a small leak in the drain line cause it was like 1 inch short but i already got one I'm putting it in tOmorrow and it smokes alittle some times I have a restrictor but I don't really remember the size I already bought one too

Be careful using a lot of RTV. I did before and found some of the RTV in my pickup tube before. Just use a 1/4" bead of it on the oil pan and let it set up before installing it. If you let is set up it won't squish out everywhere and make little beads that could get broken off.

Yeah man I'm like u always looking for threads like these I had to wait like 1 year and a half to make mine and buy all the stuff It's a great experience next I will build the engine but hopefully next year

Lol sorry well Im gonna install the new drain line (longer one) to fix the leak and i have to wait for the advantage 3 sct software to get the car tune hopefully for next Wednesday I'll have it ready :) I'll post some pics of the car from the drain line and hot side later today

all miata are i4. they originally came with a 1.6 then was switched to 1.8l bp in the late na models and all nb models. the nc has a duratec. the 1.8 made 130 hp and came with a forged crank from factory, its the same engine that came in escort gt. to me ford switching to the zetec was a down grade

#31 ·
zetec and duratec both have cast iron cranks. svt used forged rods but not forged crank or pistons. from what ive seen so far only one trans made for the bp will hold its potential and thats the miata 6 spd

Update from my build I change the drain line and no more smoke Im waiting for the advantage 3 to get the car tune and I drop a 90* aluminum pipe frm the cold side and I'm gonna have to wait for it too so I can get the car running
