I really liked the concept of a twin center exit but every muffler for the ST was as much my whole tab for the installed mod, so I opted for what I got...but I do love that center exit look. Pics of yours?

Well I have the Fswerks race exhaust on it and it's of course a slip pipe exhaust so I just slipped the last part out above the rear axle and had a pipe made to go to the center even used the Fswerks tip and had a cut put into my bumper so it would sit up in a bit,ill get this thing cleaned up today and put some pics on my profile, the whole endeavor cost me $70 = )

I found falcons video on youtube,
YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

and although his setup sounds good it's quieter than what I was looking for. I'd imagine your Magnaflow is very similar since its the same principal.
As for what I plan on doing- I've seen several videos of people who cut off the lunchbox and just put a pipe in its place. These all sound good, but are simply too loud! This made me wonder what putting a glass-pack in place of the lunchbox would sound like. Looks like someone had the same idea.

(use decent headphones or good speakers while watching)

It's hard to tell what that would sound like in person but from what I can hear it sounds nice and low, with the right amount of volume and aggression. If I did this myself I'd get a slightly shorter one and add a bent pipe and tip to vent the exhaust close to where the stock outlet is. Autozone seems to sell these Thrush glass-packs for under $30 so I may well bite on this one.

(Edited my post completely)

The first one sounded nice. Looks better too IMHO.
What are the performance gains with just the muffler? If any.

Precisely zero performance gains from just changing the rear muffler.

I got the Glass-pack installed today. (Thrush part #24205) Exactly what I was looking for! REALLY low tone, not farty or harsh in the least- even when you get on it. The guy at the shop was quite surprised, he said "You know I never criticize my customers, but when you came in here with that I really didn't want to put it on for you; I hate those things." The look on his face when it started up relatively quiet and low was priceless. Job only cost me $22 for the muffler and $80 for it welded on with custom hangers and an elbow. I tried taking a video but my cameras mic just can't record the low tones well and as a result it sounds raspy- but not at ALL in person.

Here's a picture for those curious.

Update on the thrush glasspack. It seems to be more of a high pressure bass cannon than a sport exhaust. It's not Civic+Cherry bomb loud by any means however, and I haven't even been looked at by a cop. If anything it sounds just like the stock exhaust does, but a bit louder, much lower, and pressurized. Start your car, stand behind it, and listen to the muffled low tone the stock muffler gives to understand what I mean. In all, while its not BAD per say, it's not what I wanted. It sounds kind of silly going up a hill; I can't tell if the wheels are pulling me up from the front, or if that pressure is pushing me from the back.
