Hey guys, I'm considering going with a FSWERKS turbo kit on my 2009 focus ses coupe later this year perhaps. However, it has an auto trans, I was wondering what kind of power this trans will handle without breaking? Also if I need to upgrade the trans to handle the extra power, do I need a full new one or is there some simple upgrades that can be done to it. Furthermore, I have 'massive crower stage 1 cams' already in the car, how will this affect the turbo?
I'm moving this to General Forced Induction The place to chat about turbochargers, superchargers nitrous systems and custom engine fabrications.
You'll get some more specific answers on your questions. Also, you can always give FSwerks a call or email, both are listed on their website. They would be able to give you specific answers as well.
I don't doubt that, but I am wondering how long an auto trans will take that abuse, and if my cams will affect the turbo, or if it will increase the power very much? Also does anyone make a catless downpipe, I have the race headers now and love the noise without the cat. If I do get a turbo kit I would only plan on running around 8-9psi until I could upgrade the tranny at some later date.
