Well the hope would be that both sides would get together and work out which standards really matter and come up with one set.
Never will happen, mostly due to the "Imperialist' leanings of the USA. (we think we are 100% right, and other should therefor change to what we do)

Mandate states to have state pokemon
Every state in the United States of America should choose a State Pokemon.
Every state in the United States of America has a state animal, a state bird, a state jam, ect.
With the increasingly widespread use of technology and the ever increasing popularity of Pokemon I and many others believe that it is very important that the government recognize them.
