Well, the wheels are finally finished! We have a pro welder friend who finish welded them to make sure they are solid.

The next thing will be to move his car back to my garage so we can get on the paint and final bodywork. The car is running great, but it looks like such a rat rod......

Doubt it's "Rat" enough to win in that category...

This is just such inspiration. I have a ZETEC from a ZX2 I just took apart since it had a blown head gasket. Well...guess what I am going to be receiving as of today. I say receiving because I am buying it for $500 from a buddy who is solely selling it because he can't fit in it. Same guy who game me the motor...

That is me in the picture sitting inside the 1978 Triumph Spitfire here in California. I am a resident of Florida (Tampa) So I am planning on getting it done once I get back there.

Zetec powaaa

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I am just saying...please help! Your MGB is so awesome!

Wish someone would help me convince my father to finish putting our "B" back together. It's been apart for like 4 years now...

It's been some time since the last update. We've had a chance to drive the car a good bit and it really runs great. The neatest thing is how tractable it is. The bike carbs look radical but the engine pulls strong and clean from idle to redline without any flat spots or hiccups.

Gas mileage is good and this thing is fast! No way, no how could I keep up with it in my mostly stock MGB GT on a couple of road trips. In fact, on the way to the paint shop, I was unable to keep up in my turbocharged CX7 while accelerating up one of the on ramps! The only problem we've really had is a fuel pump failure, but that pump was on the car when we got it - no telling how old it is.

The wheels came out nice! The Sentra wheels look a lot like the early MGB steel wheels, but in a 15x6 size that fits the body really well. The steel wheels give the car an "outlaw" look (google outlaw 356).

We finally got all the body modifications finished. Shaved all the marker lights, shaved off the reverse lights, retrofitted the door with early MGB door handles and window crank mechanisms, retrofitted early turn signals, filled the antenna holes, modified an early trunk lid......there are a lot of subtle changes.

The car is at the paint shop now; should be finished next week. There's a little more body work to do before it goes into the paint booth, but our painter is making good progress. Pics show preliminary body work to massage out some small door dings, a coat of black epoxy, followed by gray 2k primer. Final color will be the same Royale Blue that is in the engine compartment already.
