Engine doesn't sound right

Just got my SVT out of storage for the summer, and noticed it sounds a little funny. I remember it sounded a lil' funny at the end of last year.

Anyone know if this is a problem or if your SVT sounds similar?

sounds like injector clicking to me... Injectors on the SVT are loud, you could take them out and take them up to a shop that does a Seafoam fllush ( its a special machine that flows cleaner through the injectors at different speeds takes like 15-20 minutes) to clean any gunk out of them and probably make the spray pattern a bit better. shouldnt cost more than 50$.

How many miles on the car? have you checked lash specs?

Check lash at 92k mine were all in the middle of spec, I usually check lash spec when doing timing, being I have the VC off anyway. I did notice on another members lash that I did the timing on he had 116k and 2 of his valves were in spec but a little on the tight side. As the motor heats up valves get tighter, you may be fine but go ahead and check lash spec.

As valves wear into the head they get tighter and louder and if you dont keep them in spec you will have poor performance & destroy your head eventually.

from my experience on cars and motorcycle engines most of the time its the exhaust valves that wear quicker than the intake valves.I have to adjust valves on crotch rockets every 10k-15k miles but these engines rev to 18,000-24,000 RPM all day long so they wear faster.

If your valves are to tight you can burn the valve and this can happen

Pm me your email and ill send you a handy sheet to do the adjustment on
