My First Autocross-Video Inside

Well I finally got around to uploading the videos from my first autocross. I had been wanting to do one but was always scared to hurt my car and be so far away from home. Well they had one about 5 min away from me for a local event. So I had no more excuses. Course was a little tight due to it being held in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Event was put on by the SCCA NEO division as part of the Salem Super Cruise during the Steel Valley Super Nationals. After reading all the helpful tips on this forum. I went out there with all intentions of taking it easy the first lap. And after watching every other car there DNF that was the plan. But once I got out there I couldn't control myself. I nailed the course and actually had the fastest time there for the first 3 rounds. Then the driving instructor that was there in a Honda S2000 w/ autocross tires destroyed my time. At the end he had a 46.885 second time and mine was 49.820. The only other car that beat me was a mean Camaro and Mini Cooper S piloted by another seasoned driver. It was a small event but there were a lot of nicer cars than mine and I felt pretty happy about out driving them. I plan on getting out there and racing a lot more in the future.

Feel free to comment with any advice. Thanks.

Tight courses are a lot of fun and it's where our cars are most competitive.

My local region does a lot of power/fast courses and the bigger, faster cars tend to fare much better.
