Kill it with fire. Seriously, next time you do an oil change get a filter that isn't extremely shitty. You're running pretty good oil, so why waste it with one of the crappiest filters available?

I wonder if 0w-20w oil would help MPG w/o any harmful effects...especially in the winter, it is tempting to use it. Anybody using it? If it worked, why wouldn't Ford list it in the owner's manual? They'd love to get higher MPG (even if just 0.01MPG) essentially for free.

It is odd/surprising that quite a few enthusiasts still use Frams. A guy online tore apart various motorcycle filters, and Fram was clearly the worst, so much so that I don't care if they are better now, they lost my confidence/trust forever.

I bet Ford/Motorcraft filters are good, and they are pretty inexpensive. I however mostly use the expensive Purolator Pur-1 (who probably make Ford's anyhow!). I plan to buy some decent filters on Amazon instead of waiting for local sales.

Not everyone that posts on a forum is an "enthusiast."

Actually it's very hard to beat an OE filter(any maker's OE). About the only ones that do are Mobil1, Purolator PureOne, and Bosch.

Yeah, but people who use full synthetic are likely enthusiasts though.

I don't think that's anywhere near true.
