Your leaving out Slayer , Overkill, Testament , Death Angel all of those bands are still making some kick ass music and haven't slowed down yet along with new Heathen , Kreator , Artillery just to name a few pretty much all the speed metal bands that I listen too are still putting out new stuff and I'm from the 80's of Metal .

Underoath (back when Aaron Gillepie was in it(Lost in the sound of separation was their best album imo)

Never really liked Blink and Sum 41, it was just annoying teenager music. (although i'm a teenager yet, never liked them)


So noone likes any of the first bands i posted? Tis the reason i started this to chat about. Seems like everyone here likes the older, or heavy a$$ stuff.

Anyone like Born of osiris? These are probably the heaviest guys i like right now. Their synth is just nasty.


Bands with crazy BPM songs and stupid fast blastbeats i no longer care for. But i still give props to the artists.

If the band toured in the '80s I saw 'em as a friend's dad operated a Ticket outlet. I have quite the collection of tour programs and t-shirts too.

I've also been to the Monsters of Rock in '88 where Metallica was sandwiched inbetween Kindom Come and Dokken,Crue opening for Ozzy's Bark at the Moon tour (very rowdy show on both ends) and even saw an early Twisted Sister show before their Stay Hungry album broke.

The heavier metal shows I saw on the rare side include VoiVod,Mercyful Fate,Overkill,Grim Reaper,Raven and of course I've seen Slayer including their tour with Anthrax and Testement a bit over 20 years ago now. Boy time flies.

I guess not lol... Admittedly the metalcore stuff isn't really what I'm primarily into, but I'll give just about anything a chance. Asking Alexandria isn't too bad, and I kinda like Killswitch Engage.

This thread inspired me to try to list all the shows I've been to.. I'll have to figure out who was where and when hah, Wifey can help me out tonight as we go to 99% of shows together.

I got the chance to check out Metal Church at a bar in Houston on The Dark tour and talk about an awesome show .
But my 1st show that I'll never forget was Keel , Accept and Helix and after that Metal was injected into my blood and I've never stopped yet .

But what I've been thrashing to lately has been Artillery , new Venom and what I call has the sound of Beach Boys meets Satan (Ghost ) . With some old Death Angel throwed in the mix.
