Just allows the engine to run a little cooler as far as the cooling system is concerned. Its not gonna affect exhaust temps.

Running cooler helps prevent detonation for one thing. I also have personally noticed it brings the under hood temps down slightly. I used to live in very hot climates, Los Angeles, CA and Tulsa, OK, and the car always ran better, smoother with the 180*.

If you are tracking the car and its 90*+ then having the cooler stat will help.

im looking to replace my t stat housing and t stat. Do I use a conture housing or a autozone cheapy. 190 tstat or a lower temp tstat??? Any thoughts on rock auto ? Seems cheaper then auto zone..... worth it ????
