max tire width

I am curious to find out how wide a tire anyone has tried on a focus with a 6.5 inch rim without rubbing and with std offsets? I watched one of our nationals competitors shoehorn a 245 on a 5.5 in rim and run an autox.

With a Hoosier, its possible. The DS Type R guys were putting a 275 on 6" wheels

With a street tire, it might fit but it won't be fast.

You are thinking the street tire won' keep its contact patch like a race tire then? Makes sense.
