I bought a 2014 that should be delivered tomorrow. I checked the VIN against TSBs and this one wasn't listed. I have not been able to find any info on how Ford resolved this for the 2014 models. I would much rather have some vibration than wheel hop.

Does anybody know the status on recently manufactured STs?

2014's come with the upgraded motor mounts, actually it's the same mount used in the electric Focus. I can still get the clunk on the 1-2, but you can drive around it and never experience it.

If you're worried you could always get one of the RMM's offered but the aftermarket. the cp-e stage 2 mount is what I recommend as it doesn't transmit a lot of vibrations to the car but also eliminates wheel hop. it actually re-engineers the RMM to a better design.

Don't think its an issue with the 2014 models.

I finally got mine done after the dealer waited for the parts and the problem is gone. No more engine knocking on the firewall but it still has a good amount of torque steer.

you're correct it's not an issue with the 2014's, because they left the factory with the e-focus mounts. which is what the TSB put on your 2013.

Only the Rear Roll Restrictor is from the Focus Electric. The other two mounts are specific to the Focus ST.

It's interesting how those mounts are specific to the ST, however carry the same part numbers as e-focus according to the parts books I have at work.

Unless you have the complete engineering part number the base number is the same on each type of motor mount but the physical parts do not match.

The N/A Focus has a two bolt engine mount v.s. the three for the ST, and the transmissions are very different.

Focus N/A GDI

Focus ST

Focus Electric

The Focus Electric PSMM is CM5Z-6038-A V.s. the DV6Z-6038-A called for in the TSB.

E-Focus PSMM

Focus ST PSMM

TSB parts list:
CM5Z-6068-A - Roll Restrictor - Same as E-Focus Mount part and number.
DV6Z-7A512-B -Clutch Line PTL
DV6Z-6038-B - Engine Mount - Different to E-Focus Part and number
DV6Z-6068-A - Transmission Mount
W500361-S442 - Bolt - Transmission Mount
W716238-S442 - Bolt - Roll Restrictor
PM-20 - Motorcraft DOT 4 LV High Performance Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid

Thanks, that is some great information. I suspected that may be the case but it is a great relief to have it confirmed.

I had been leaning towards getting the dealer to install the CP-E Stage 2 mount. While I could probably do it myself all my tools are in storage and I have been surviving with just a multi-tool for a while now. It has made for some trivial jobs quite interesting.

I emailed the manager today about getting the Ford Racing Performance Pack installed, right off the bat he said he would cut me a deal. Music to my ears. I will get them to put in the CP-E mount at the same time.

Can't wait to get this bad boy on the road if it will warm up some.
