I'm currently building a turbo svt. It will be fully built, head and bottom end. I currently have a gtx3076. The car will be a dd and occasionally see the strip. I'm looking at going 10:1 and it is cammed. Its not running yet I should say. I read the gtx3576 spools like the gtx3076 but makes more top end due to the bigger, less restrictive turbine size. I don't want a lot of lag as its primarily a street car. With that in mind I realistically want and think I can make over 500whp on pump gas seeing as Chris earls made 489 with a stock head but I also understand he had a gt35. That's why I question the gtx3576. For those who don't know what it is, its nothing more than a gtx30 compressor wheel with a gt35 turbine wheel. The difference in price between a gtx3576 and a gtx3582 is like $9. I'm liking the gtx3576 because of the spool. Whats your guys opinions?
I'm undecided because I want 500 on pump. 20psi is all I feel I'm gonna be able to run on pump at 10:1 and I'm not sure the 3076 will get me to my goal
I've had it for too long but the car hasn't ran in two years. Its a part I bought last year at income tax time and haven't finished building the car yet
Yeah i know how tht goes lol all my parts of boxes finally made it on the car after a year withing the last 2 months ! But ya thats exactly the turbo im looking for cause im only shooting for 400ish
I bought a gt2871r and love it. spools quickly and power band goes to redline. when I was running the pte 5857 it had a good punch to it but the boost came in so late thou
Just depends on what you want to do with the car but the bigger shouldn't be to bad, higher compression and a good intake manifold will help with spool. Is exactly what I'm doing, going even higher in compression, should be ready next week maybe Dyno week after that.
I think I've settled on 9.5:1 for safety. Fernando said 10:1 is pushing it. He's gonna tune it so if I didn't trust his word he wouldn't be doing it. I may just keep the 3076 especially if stolle regrets going to the 3582
Yea changing it now is more hassle than its worth. Especially when I don't even know where it stands yet
