What I like to do is find out who manufactures parts for the car company.
For example, two of many companies that supply Toyota: Denso and Aisin. I just go online and get the parts straight from the supplier. Its cheaper than the dealer prices but exactly the same part/reliability.

There have been only two instances of people having the gates brand fail, just two, and both of those had questionable installs.

If people swear by the factory OEM ford parts, then why do more timing belt failures happen when on the stock components at low-ish mileage?

Besides, from what I hear the gates makes the OEM stuff anyways so it doesn't matter which you get, it's just like any old oil thread on here, use what you like or feel is best, it's all a matter of opinion.

The best advice is to take your time and follow the procedures or get some help. I've done at least dozen of them with no problems and even fixed a couple that were botched, no problems afterward.

Two rules...

Avoid Dayco parts and replace BOTH pulleys. Well - three things....DON'T get into a big hurry...AND use the lock tools [I could rent or sell them to you - PM me] (that would be four, right?)
