Ok thanks Mike. The owner of the ST said they have to cut her exhaust into 2 pieces to get it off, but I'm not sure where... I'll try to find out

It's almost certainly around the rear subframe, which would allow the exhaust to be dropped without removing anything else. If that's the case it's no issue. You can then have the muffler and the front pipe lined up separately (the front mounting flange will have to be rotated as well), and the gap would then be filled to lengthen the system for the sedan chassis.

I greatly appreciate it Bill! I am on the hunt for a local shop that I willing to do it.

I decided that in order to get some gains out of the system, I want to do some kind of "custom system". I want to keep the ST tips, so I guess I'll keep the rear muffler there and the ST tips, and could run 2.5" piping until that point? To replace the front muffler, what do you all recommend?
A friend of mine suggested glass packs but said they are very loud?

Thanks a lot :)

a friend of mine just said that he suggests "getting a glass pack in the same length as another muffler I think will be okay"

I would like the system not to be too loud... the FSwerks stealth system was still pretty loud for me and thats the quietest aftermarket kit I've heard so far for the focus haha.

and "if I don't like it it's easy to swap to something else"
although I'd like to keep the costs down as well haha...

thanks guys

The piping is 2.5 all the way, so you would get performance gains from it just stock. Replacing that front muffler would help with flow and sound and is what I plan to do. I am planning a glasspack myself. I had one on my stock exhaust and it was pretty noisy.

Its not quite 2.5" all the way, it does shrink down less on places...

hmmm okay we shall see haha.
Good news! My friend agreed to help me and is very knowledgeable with exhaust. His idea that we have so far agreed to is to: remove the rear muffler (the tips stay) and run straight pipe from the front muffler until that point.

in theory, wouldn't his proposition result in a louder system versus if we did a glass pack as one of the mufflers (not sure which muffler he meant)?
