I replaced wires when I did the coil pack, figured why not do it all while i have it taken out ya know. But I will check all vacuum lines and the PCV hose too, woulda thought something like a vacuum leak would trigger a trouble code but maybe not. I'll go and scan for codes right now and see what I come up with. Thanks again man

Was just under my car for a while after scanning codes and checking vacuum lines nothing seems to be out of order except for the flex pipe. I noticed its started to rip open and sure enough after making sure the leak was there it is. Could that be the problem?!

No I don't believe so I had 2 foci that had the flex pipe broke, all it does is make your car louder that's all.

You said you checked the PCV hose, do you mean just the rubber part, or the whole PCV system? There is also the PCV elbow under the exhaust manifold, and a hard metal line that runs under the coil pack, between the elbow and the rubber hose. My metal line was cracked, and I had to replace that. It was only like 25 bucks through ford, but I honestly cannot remember if I was having any issues like you do or not.

I checked the whole PCV system like you said and inspected that metal line near the manifold and it was a little rusted but not cracked at all. Just for the hell of it I ran some Restore brand engine restorer and Lucas fuel system cleaner in the car and it seemed to run better and didnt have that bucking when maintaining a speed in 5th. Im not sure if i got lucky or not but we'll see how it runs the next couple of days. Anymore ideas are welcome! Thanks guys

You might have just had dirty fuel injectors then. I put lucas in my car every other month to keep them clean.

anarchy's post is great! I have had the coil pack harness issue. Also check the hose that runs through the open area between the motor and the brake booster. It forms a pinhole and/ or collapses right at the 90 degree elbow on the outer side of the bend. If all those things pass inspection, try a new tps. they don't cost much, like 20 sumpm bucks.

Ok thanks I will take closer look at that hose tonight. Probably replace the TPS too they are very cheap even through Ford so it's worth a shot. Thanks for the post
