Exclamation 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 2nd Gear Hard Shifting

Hey everyone, I'm a proud owner of my first Ford. I am a Diesel Technician and need a little help isolating a problem.
2001 Ford Focus ZX3 2.0 DOC
144,000 miles.

Intermittent Transmission Lamp
Code P0732 Second Gear Ratio Incorect.

Car drives fine, but second gear engages hard at 2000-2750 RPMs. When the lamp is illuminated has problem shifting ( I have to release the accelerator to make the shift). Transmission fluid and filter has been changed and no abnormal metal in pan magnet. My next step is to change the shift solenoid and check the resistance of them all. I was wondering if anyone else has been down this road. I hope it's not a band in the trans, but the last person who owned this car never serviced the transmission. Any help would be appreciated. The P0732 is the only code in the PCM. Check trans light goes off after restarting the car and shifts fine. Thanks!

Might want to ask this question in the general technical chat area of the forum. You'd get an answer there most likely.
