He said Toyota camery motors are built strong. I just want to know can we add a turbo with say 12psi without completely rebuilding the motor?

Well from what I've read 12psi on these engines would probably be the highest before things started blowing. Well I mean not having upgraded pistons/ clutch etc will lead to quicker wear and tear. If you're not replacing them now with upgraded parts you will be later lol. change the compression ratio and high levels of boost can be run. The other idea is that a high compression ratio means lower levels of boost can be run to yield the same power/torque. Just swap some internals from an st, put in a stage 3 clutch and go nutz. Assuming the pistons fit/rods fit.

Lots of people on this forum think 8 psi on this engine will blow it up. I myself am hoping it would be higher but not idea.

Yeah that sounds better than 12 psi, swore that's what I saw but at 12:1 or whatever it is, I'd be scared with 5 psi lol

I have a 2013 camry 2.5L. They're all automatics now and I've never seen a manual option. Let me know where to get said kit so I can have das boost.

Drag bikes 14:1 50 lbs boost so head will rise a little at end of run and leak a little oil. That is what brake clean and pressure washers are for. LOL

Folks are saying the car's mpg is often off..but really..it should be v. accurate as it is taking fuel flow and distance which it should have good data on. For the fill up/mileage method, there are a lot more accuracy issues I would suspect without fully draining the tank/knowing exactly how much capacity/precisely measuring the fill up. Thoughts? I know the distance to empty is based on the previous tank's data but the mpg is real-time based on fuel flow and distance.

My car is usually pretty close during normal commute weeks, but if I have a show/meet where my car idles for a couple of hours it will be wildly off-especially if the idling starts around the 3/4 tank mark. The same is true if I take a long trip, the second tank on the highway will always read higher than the first and when I return it takes a couple of tanks to get the mpg back to semi-accurate.
