It's been a while since I've posted here, and I hate to immediately start asking questions, but I have an issue that's just driving me crazy. A while back I took off all the door panels in a (failed) effort to upgrade the stock speakers, since then all the door panels have been rattling something awful. I'm looking for a brand new set of the white pins/clips that hold the trim panels to the door and I can't seem to find a set anywhere. Anyone know the part number or where to get a matching aftermarket set?
Check that out and look at the part diagrams to find the piece you are looking for. I would pick up some RTV silicone from your local autoparts store and put some of that in there with each new screw and clip. It will prevent the screws and clips from rubbing and moving and making more sound.
Thanks, but that link is broken. Fordparts is the first place I checked, and unless I'm just missing it or looking at the wrong diagram the clips don't seem to be on there.
Well it took the parts guy a good fifteen minutes to find the exact part that was needed but he got it. It'l cost me $56 for the full set of clips; there are 14 per door at a dollar each. A bit pricey if you ask me, but definitely worth my sanity on highway drives. Having all the doors creak and rattle every time I drive over an expansion joint gets quite annoying.[]
As soon as I pick them up and confirm that they are correct I will. They had to be special ordered, and as I couldn't see them in person I can't be 100% sure that it's the right clip. Most likely it is though.
