svt header/general header?'s

I want a header for my 01 zx3 now is it possible to get the svt set-up without a tune to keep a cel off? really any header also is their any aftermarket headers for my zx3 that wont throw a cel? besides a shorty? if so where to get them?

simply put, no, all race headers delete the cat. if no cat, you get a CEL. the svt header has a cat, but it doesn't have an EGR. so you get a CEL. if you get the SVT header kit from cfm (like 375 bucks) it and you still need to pick up a cat and flex. so its best to get it used. for the price of a new header, you can pay for a tune and get a complete setup used (i have one btw!)

i had a svt header and just deleted the egr system. if you do it right you can the egr vacuum line and fool the pcm into thinking the egr is working = no CEL

no the svt setup still uses a flex and a cat, there just diff sizes. if you have the regular zetec 2.5" flex there is a special hi-flow cat you can get from mcnews i think. but like mlb said, it pretty pricy goin that route.

i used a svt flex from trubendz and a used svt cat from svtsalvage.com. the stock svt cat looks to be a lot better flowing than the stock zetec. not as good as a high flow cat but its the next best thing as long as its used that is.

you want to do "work around #2" if you dont have a xcal

yeah i know, the stock svt cat is a big improvement. its kind of an oval shape

well If I buy the race header will tom's tuner get rid of the cel and still have my zx3 running right?

well the race header on fswerks has a flex pipe that fits the zx3 and is exactly the same as the 2.5" trubendz flex. will that fit their race header as well? since you guys say the svt header wont fit the zx3 flex?

i have a race header, no cat, and fswerks stealth exhaust and have NO CEL, i also run an ebay intake and have run 3 or 4 idfferent ones for over 6 years... everyone says i should have a cel but i dont
