I am 39 and LOVE my SVTF!!! As stated above, if it is titled as "rebuilt" or "Salvaged", I would stear clear of it! It will more likely than not be a troublesome vehicle IMO. For example a friend of mine had a 1987 Buick Grand National and he got T-Boned by someone that ran a red light, It was fixed but the car was never the same again. It had electrical problems and the alignment was never right after the accident and he had a hard time selling it even though it was a Grand National. Buyer Beware!

On another note, you could take it to a shop that inspects and appraises vehicles and have them go over it with a fine tooth comb and get their opinion on the vehicle if you are that interested in it.

31 and have owned my svt for almost a year now. No regrets...has been pretty reliable to me and is a blast to drive. I never get tired of climbing into the seat and while it does run 91 out here...its not all that bad. I can drive nicely and get upwards of 31-32mpg (high altitude helps a little with that)...but if I mash the gass alot, I am looking at the upper 20's in mileage

23, Love the car, hate the maker (NA FORD). If this was a ST170 I think I'd be even happier because it's not made in North america (AKA: Mexico) when the quality seems to be lower. Just make sure you get a new ECU flash and read up on all the TSB's this car has. With that said it's got good gas milege 25 mpg(town) 28 highway when working properly.

I am 35, I love my SVT, I really didnt go looking for just ran across it. As for the mileage, I have no idea how everyone is getting those kind of numbers? I am getting about 20 around town and 24-26 Highway! Either I am still enjoying th throttle too much or I have a seriously bad tune. I even put the Focus Sport Cool Flo on to try and improve the milage a bit, but no luck.

Yeah, I don't get great mileage, but I do rev the piss out of it. Of course, it's only because the darn thing loves to do it.

I'm 22, 21 when I bought it.

It's a maintenance nightmare, I bought it new for reliable transportation because I didn't know any better.

I'm regretting not buying a used SVTF for mods/tracking and another used car for daily driving.

Thanks a lot guys, you have helped me a great deal. I am overwhelmed by your numbers, knowing that there aren't many SVTs out there, it seems that most of their owners are lurking around this place! What a great place to be.

I haven't decided yet, 25-30 mpg seems like a very nice mileage considering that I was expecting 18-22.

But would you own a car knowing that you have the only one in the country? I know that focus is relatively reliable car but what happens when you need some parts? Have to use internet to get them.

That with having SVT bodywork on a normal focus is clever idea, but it also had SVT sign on the motor when I checked (although I do not know how does a SVT motor looks like).

the SVT is identical to the ST170, which is very prominent all over europe.

23 here. Best I have ever seen was 38mpg. Now, before you get your panties in a wad, this was driving on the way back from Hurricane Katrina, 60mph cruise control the whole way back to conserve gas, because there was none in louisiana...

I love my SVT.
