Cool Oil Pan

Noticed an oil leak last week, enough to leave a substantial amount on the ground. Too busy to work on it so I left it at the shop. Turned out the oil pan was rusting through. I know I live in the salt belt and the car is ten years old but I've owned a lot of cars over a lot of years and never had that happen before. Just something to keep an eye out for. FYI.

I had mine replaced today. It was leaking through one of the rust patches. If you held it up to the sun you could see a pinhole in the pan.

That's pretty much what mine looked like too.

Working on my car I've noticed the exuberant amount of rust underneath my car. Next time I go under the carriage I'll have to look at the oil pan to take note of it's condition; being a fellow Pittsburgher and all.
