Question Question about Fuses & Steering Column!

Hey Everyone,

Just picked up a 2007 Focus as a first car.

Under the glove box, if you look under it, is the location of the fuses, undo some screws and it drops down, however I was wondering if there was meant to be a cover covering this? Or if by stock its just uncovered? It just seems so unlike Ford.

Also, on the drivers side, when I push the clutch in, and i'm turning, sometimes I can feel the steering colomn on my tip of my foot, and quite a bit of the coloumn is visible behind the pedals, once again, is this meant to be covered, or is it visible by stock?

is there covers I can get for these?

Thanks guys!

Relatively for Australians (grin)

Sorry, but while we have a number of members from down under, the North American contingent is MUCH larger. Waiting for an Australian/English answer for RHD cars can take a while.

Fuse box area on ours has a snap on cover, when missing it's obvious something belongs there. Nothing for the steering shaft though.

Welcome to FF

So you're saying your steering shift is visible?

Nothing hiding the steering shaft but a plastic tube to keep the carpet away where it goes through the floor.

It's above & to the left of the gas pedal on ours, would be somewhere near the clutch on yours.

Tube I mentioned only sticks up about an inch, shaft joint is above that.

I'm sure you've got some kind of seal arrangement where it goes through the floor, there's seldom much to them but never an open hole.

I'm a bit far away to recommend a parts source for something you couldn't get here anyways (RHD version parts). Some pieces that aren't specific to RHD get sourced here for you blokes, that may not be a universal part (if identical for '07's).

At least you know an open shaft is normal, and the fuse box cover should be as well.

Cheers
