day20 - Started a light Sunday after coming off this sinus bout with some finish work to get harness free for motor pull. This turkey
was a pest on the 1st 05-07 donor, but i knew what i needed to do this time. (BTW i will not have Wwasher fluid so splice back
over to driver's side on my 01 will not be needed).

day20 - lil 'massage' of the tank with a long driver after winding it thru a small maze and she drops out. No messing with the tank
and lines in the fender. Now onto another tank and lines...

day20 - anger management issues...

day20 - dropped this to expose the last connections past the fuel driver.

day20 - Freed up into the cabin, now onto pushing thru firewall into bay with engine.

day20 - Some more clips and giving some slack to the mainline going to the fuse box and out she came, easy as pie. This
motor/tranny is ready to pull. Only debate is to pull axles or to drop entire cross-member.

day20 - Felt i needed to destroy some more stuff. So started drilling some now unneeded spot welds. No more back seat driver,
just a fuel driver.

day20 - 1 free, Now onto its friend across the street.

day20 - Just the lower 2 and the those tiny wheel tub panel mounts was 3.5lb (had a 30lb dumbbell under box to activate scale).

day20 - It may be dirty but it looks cleaner. Get those 2 uppers just out of shot and that will be about 10lb more out of the back.

day20 - Confirmed i have updated brakes because they changed in April of 04, and donor's build date is 7/04. Good news indeed.
Til next time. (not seen in shot, Pop killed some time waiting for paint to dry by beginning to drill out spot welds on crash bar. Going
to make it removable for easier drive train work. -R

I'd make the blue car in to a race car.

day21 - After blitzing this driver's side corner to free the axle (and nuking another t50 in the process) last night,
it was onto the passenger side.

day21 - This site is gettin' a lil too familiar.

day21 - Let the madness begin on this long memorial day wkend.

day21 - Have to choose on which style of brakes i want to use. leaning to the new stuff as it is just a better setup.
These examples are a bit on the rough side so i might address that with fresh parts or heavy cleanup.

day21 - Another corner down. Yeh i pickled it sacrificing the ball joint, but i will not be using this high mileage arms.

day21 - 'Buzz' here had no issues with a tire stock exhaust pipe. This time i cut it on the correct side.

day21- Guess that could be a spare or an experiment in a reduced-size tank. perhaps can cut it down for that
expressed purpose. In the interim it'll help me line up the cuts in the chassis above to make a fuel door.

day21 - Ok now...Perhaps lets try doin this 'yard style'. Don't have any help today (granted i could've gone
fishin too) and was indeed curious of doing this deal without a hoist.

day21 - Ok i'm just about all disconnected already so i just took yet another look as i started undoin the mounts.

day21 - A lovely mess indeed.

day21 - Yeh all clear in here.

day21 - Saved this for last.

day21 - Down to low stop. next move is stands out, jacks only.

day21 - Gettin lower...

day21 - Now back over to this side.

day21 - Get down!!! Believe it or not at this very moment the pandora was playing James Brown, literally
the godfather is yellin "Get down!!! Uh... :SCREAAAAAMMM: Not the kinda music you need when doing this ha!

day21 - "Let me see where ya comin' from?" (whoops more James Brown).

day21 - Yeh i know the manifold is blown, i have a good one from the yard.

day21 - "Come here!!! (Scorpion voice)"

day21 - Just not too far now, everything ginger from here.

day21 - Then she took a turn for the...

...the garage wall.

day21 - Hmm, rear drive? Nope.

day21 - All wiring from ABS to fuel pump driver, both axles, tranny fluid, oil filter to flex, the whole show. HIT ME ! GOOD GAWD!

day21 - Ok, all that by 9am Saturday. So time for a break. Strict rule we've always had nobody under a
car with no help. So i'll enjoy some sun and perhaps wrench on a bike. More later.

day21 - Dropped the crossmember enough to slip the fuel lines out and break the brake line connections.
I will be taking those later on.

day21 - I'll use these to get things running. Order up a set for my Metal base unit later.

day21 - He kept wantin to fiddle with the spot welds. Its a bear, gonna rethink this.

day21 - Went out for a while to link up with Ken Appell and hit the yard in Edgewood for some stuff.
Found a few good scores and 1/2 price day... Even better!

day21 - Mocked this all back on and rolled her outta the way.

day21 - Finished up for the night with Honey in the garage again. Sunday should bring elevating the
whole car up enough to slide the lump up in there, fuel lines etc. Gonna clean up bay beforehand. -R

day22 - Lil bushed but today commenced with dad putting an idea into practice. Lil cleaning in the bay
while working on that idea. Still likely going to paint the greater portion of the bay black.

day22 - To all you folks who wanna get rid of this for weight savings. You will be sorely disappointed. 10-12lb tops.

day22 - While he was cutting away, i took time to do something simple like gettin rid of the rear wiper and motor.
Still will have to clean up hatch wiring, that will not be fun.

day22 - crossmember is next after some more cleaning and rust prevention/conversion.

day22 - Test fit this mount, almost killed the threads grabbing the wrong 3 bolts but tragedy was avoided.

day22 - Slid the 02.5+ shifters cable setup from the donor in. Will use this for now hopefully and then get a
new set of 00-02.5s for my metal base later.

day22 - dropped the crossmember to slide the zetec fuel lines out and the duratec fuel lines in.

day22 - First meeting...

day22 - slowly laid the car down closer and closer to down flush on the jacks. i funneled the loom
out back up on the firewall etc. Put the fuel feed lines in overhead.

day22 - Piped this loom portion up into the the car. The extra limb is for the washer which will not be used.

day22 - Bolted up in. I'm beat. -R

PS- Went out and drained the transmission and took passenger axle out b/c i couldn't put the corners back together
just enough to roll the car out. Pull it out and see the passenger axle from the donor is 1 inch longer than the 2.3
donor's axle. they are both OEM. i'm confused. hopefully the newer knuckles slip over these longer axles. oh well,
i'm thoroughly bushed.

are you saying you have 2, 2.3 dura passenger axles and 1 is longer than the other? That is strange, possibly pulled one of the joints out of the longer one? I've had that happen to me before.

Looks good so far man! excited to see it up and running you are making great progess! I would have definetly painted the engine bay all black though since you hit some rust spots with black
