Wheel hop and banging noise

I'm encountering a odd noise coming from the front end of my ST when I attempt to spin my wheels. It seems on wet pavement I can spin them no problem, but on dry surfaces the fronts seem to hop and results in a rather alarming banging noise like something is going to bust though the firewall. Any ideas what's going on? Im sure what happening isn't good for the motor, or axle.

Looking at the messages, it is pretty involved. Looking at the parts list for the TSB, it is several mounts and such that will need replacement. See below

I'm driving a 2013. How can I tell if my car is supposed to receive those recalls?

It's not a recall, rather a technical service bulletin, but in reality every 2013 build Focus ST should qualify. Proving it to the dealer might be a different story.

Depending on the dealership yes. It's required that they experience the problem in order for them to then follow the prescribed service procedure for the given issue.

2013 ST 'banging noise' and TSB

Yea, it can be a problem to GET the dealership to do anything about it. I tried last Friday (07/25/14) with a larger dealership in the area. I will not mention any names here, but, in a nutshell, I will not be going back. The Service Advisor got my VIN number and told me that my 2013 ST did NOT fall under the TSB, and then I took the Service Manager for a ride.......that did not go well......after I demonstrated the issue, his response was 'well that's more like racing'.....what a waste of my time. Does anyone know of a decent dealership in the Sugarland, Texas that has a clue??????

Hi there,

I want to dig into this a little deeper. Once you find a new dealership to work with, let me know. :)

Megan,
I'm not a real big fan of dealerships. Over my lifetime, I've had to spend too much time and effort to get things done right the first. Only one dealership learned that I knew what I was talking about, after they had to rework a couple of concerns multiple times only to figure out that it was what I had suspected all along, or had told them in the first place.
So that is why I looking for a recommendation to one that has a properly working Service Department that treats the customer as an intelligent individual and with respect. Since you work with Ford, you might know of one, or know how to find one better than I in the area around zip code 77414. Thank you.

I can completely understand your frustrations, however, I can only look into options if you are planning on working with a dealer.

Since I don't live in your area, I'm unable to suggest a specific dealer, however, you can check by ZIP code here: Dealer Locate

I hope this helps! I'll be here if you find a dealer to work with.
