timing belt and water pump

I had timing belt replaced at 60000 and then just last week at 125,00 and I'm really upset with the garage. They have a new guy working all the calls for service and he apparently doesn't know much about cars. I told him I wanted the timing belt and water pump replaced and he told me it wasn't necessary to change the water pump. Now that the work is done I'm finding out it should have been replaced. So now I'm worried the water pump will go out. I've got to find a more dependable shop. I drive a 2004 ford focus zx3 with the zetec engine.

Well if you replaced it at 60k then I wouldn't worry about it.

Did tensioner, pulley, all belts including timing at 187,000 kms. My timing belt was literally on it's last teeth. Got the audible cues and knew it had to be replaced. Saw the belt and the teeth were lifting away.... Lucky me.

I'm now at 119,000. I'm planing on doing it right away. I will be doing the tensioner, idler, and water pump at the same time.

Yes do the whole kit at once, my water pump was just about to start leaking, you could see coolant on the outer lip of the O ring
