Manual Trans Fluid \ other maint.

When do you guys change the manual trans fluid on these? I have an 08 5spd with about 55k miles on it. I am going on a road trip in about a month and I am trying to build a little list of maintenance I should do before I go. I was thinking:

Fuel FIlter (did it last at about 25k, Damn those double lines are a PITA)
Drain n fill coolant
Clean k&n filter
Spark plugs (went with copper autolite 103s at about 30k)
Drain and fill trans.

Also wondering what trans fluid is best for my trans. Any other maintenance suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

100,000 f/f is non servicable in the tank 100,000 for your coolant you can use 50/50 sparkplugs around 70,000 maybe use syncromesh only you'll have a problem with anything else trust me.

5 yrs on the coolant.

Autolites are due again (103's aren't 100,000 plugs)

Ford Synthetic manual trans fluid (2 qt) when you do it, can go 100,000 by the book.

Tire pressure & check spare/jack before the trip (always forgotten 'till needed) - check it first & you won't need it either!

Thank you! I have like 50lb of speaker on top of the spare but i didnt even think to check it out.... The autolites gave me a bit more throttle response, but since they are coppers i will change them before i go.

What do you guys think about seafoam? I was gonna do the 1/3 gas tank, 1/3 in oil about 50mi before i change it, and 1/3 in a vacuum line.. i havent looked yet, it the brake booster the easiest?

Moved to "General Technical Chat" since your questions involve maintenance type concerns.

Did it make it a lot smoother in shifts? My 3rd seems like it is a little less smooth than it was 50k miles ago lol

Yep. Felt like a new transmission, honestly.
