Fading Rain Guards?

Okay so this is the first new car I have bought. Well almost new (2012 18k miles). My old car was a 2000 Ford contour...which I took car of very well but I am stepping it up 100% more with my new car. Anyways one problem I had with my old car and I am now seeing already happen on this car since I have had it is that the rain guards I guess you would call them and any other black rubber material on the car is fading. Here is a picture of what I mean exactly.

Any idea how to fix this and prevent it from happening again? I know I can just plasti dip it, which I probably will do when I do my rims. I just didn't know if there was a product out, or a simple easy way to fix this that I didn't know of. Since I am rather new to really taking car of a car, and pampering it lol.

Thanks

back to black is a great way to keep them looking good, but ive never found a product that protects that material from the sun. Ive seen some advertisements for a few things, but never tried anything that worked well.

Use Forever Black. It is a dye used by the Jeep community. I've used it and it is so much better than Back to Black.

I am having the same issue with mine. I have a '12 with 39K on her.

Just ordered "fovever black" kit from amazon for $17.00

Here is a quate from forever blacks website

Forever BLACK™ Bumper & Trim Cleaner and Reconditioner has become America's #1 choice for restoring black bumpers & trim. Permanently recolor and protect all black plastic, vinyl & rubber surfaces on your car without silicone. We use the same chemicals that the manufacturers use. This product does not attract dust. Protects against U.V. damage

Good to know that it protects against UV rays. When I get it and apply it I will add more info,

Would it just be a better idea to dip them in order to protect them?

I've noticed this too on mine mostly on the little touch pads on the doors that lock the doors on my ST3, and a little bit on the roof. Pretty concerning as I've only put 6000 miles on the car in a year as I carpool with my wife to work. So it's been in the garage for like 80% of the last year...

Glad I'm not the only one, forever black it is.

I never thought about doing that, if you do let us know how that goes. Would be interesting to see what they do about it. For now I was just going to do the forever black but haven't grown the balls to start. I'm worried I might get some on the paint and not notice it until its too late.

Warranty claim on what? Stuff fades after exposure to UV rays. Either deal with it, or protect it with something.

I sprayed all my trim with 303 at least a couple times a year, and everything was looking almost new.
