Most courts send their citations out to a third party to have them processed. Then once they are scanned they are sent to the court and processed in the actually court system. So if you got issued the ticket, it will be in the system at some point. What is the court date that the officer placed on the ticket? Because it might be processed one week before that date. In Los Angeles County we issue citations 9 weeks from the date of the citation to give enough time for that third party to process it.
Also in regards to your name being incorrect, it does NOT matter. Because I am sure all of the other information like drivers license, date of birth are correct so they can process it. All they have to do is send you a letter in the mail stating that they put the wrong name on there and the court is clear.
So in short, start saving some cash because you are going to pay for what ever the violation was.

Well I called because I had to submit proof of insurance to get that portion off the ticket and the court date is well... Today... So I assumed it would be in their system by now

Did Kansas raise their speed limit? I have not driven that way in quite some time, but I hated when the speed limit dropped when you left CO.

I learned a long time ago never to speed on i-70 through Kansas. the hard way.

Hope you get out of the ticket, but I would be willing to bet it will not be that easy.

I get a ticket every single year, mostly from back in Idaho, and everyone from a broken headlight, to not wearing a seatbelt, to speeding, have had an NTA. Either pay it, or show up to argue it.

Unlikely you'll get a free pass, now that you've snitched on yourself.

Which was the right thing to do................if you had let it slide for months or years; you'd probably have ended up answering a knock on the door one day; only to discover it was a Dept. of Homeland Security SWAT Team there to serve a warrant for your domestic terrorism charge back in Kansas.
