NC Tuning I really dont want to buy a Cat

Ok. So from what I have read in the posts. It is totally possible to tune a focus so that the emission codes read N/A. What will that code do in an inspection in NC? Pass/Fail? I am about ohhhh.... 6 months past my inspection and really dont want to buy at Cat bc the next step in my build was to do a straight piped exhaust. Ie. No cat needed. And by doing that, I will use shorty headers so eventually I will be about to insert a FI system and a long tube header purchase wont be a waste of money.

So. anybody have experience with NC inspections for 2013/2014 using a tune that spits out a N/A code for emissions?

Corbin

You can turn off the CEL with a tune, you would still need to beat the sniffer test im assuming.

Thats tuff in NC , half pass half done , you cannot turn off the code or you get a "readiness not complete " so you have to either use the cheater or the silicone or both on the second o2

The sniff test is another story , it can be beat but its tuff
