Transmission shifting issues

Is anyone else dealing with a notchy or hard to get into first or reverse. Tried going 2-1,2-r. Sometimes I have to force the thing into gear...and ford says this is normal. Tried rolling down driveway, even other gears before shifting into 1 or r. Car has 8k and has been doing this since 3k,

No but it sounds like you're hurting the synchronizers by not easing it into gear, or letting it roll just a bit before engaging the gear if it's not in the right position to slide right in.

I've not really noticed that, although the gearbox is a little bit stiff when cold. (As in below 40F, but especially around 0F, not something you'd experience in California.

Mine has a bit of difficulty getting into 1st, but only when cold (0C or below ambient). Once the trans is warmed up, no problems. Still, infinitely better than my Zetec MTX75 with fresh Ford fluid.

Take to dealer. Shouldnt have issues with shifting regardless of temp unless at below zero.

I had my transmission replaced under warrenty due to the second gear syncros going out. It got so bad that every time I went to 2nd the gears would grind. This is also my 5th car with a manual transmission and never had anything like this happen before.
