It depends on the type of service you are performing. At my dealership, we use BG products. So, I've got a dual tank (fuel rail and high pressure spray nozzle) and spray it at the throttle body. I take the intake tube loose just before the throttle body, insert the nozzle and reattach the tube. Then, I let the vehicle warm up before I start spraying.

As for using a can with a tap or "seafoam," you could take the vacuum line off the brake booster and run it that way. You won't have much vacuum at the breather hose connection since it's before the throttle body. If you can find a vacuum line after the throttle body, then that should do the trick. I haven't heard of anything involving the exhaust manifold.

Well i had a mini cooper and it had a vacume line that ran from the valve cover to the intake manifold. it was part of the PCV system. anyway you could disconect it from the valve cover and then you had a vacume line going into the intake manifold you could use. Pretty much the same thing as you going in through the throtle body i bypassed the TB and went straight into the intake manifold. I meant to say intake manifold in my other post not exhaust manifold, my bad. i'll edit that.
