Wow thank everyone !!!

Super impressed with the feed back.

I'm going to go with a cold air with an air box delete. Im seeing a nice K&N system, but the price is a little on the high side.

Any cheeper stuff worth looking at ??
Oh and I'm in Canada too for shipping.

If you want cheap but want sound go for the k&n with the removable end cap and do the snorkel delete that way you keep a stock engine bay. If that isn't loud enough, your wallet isn't gonna like you much...

the fact of the matter is, the stock MK3 has zero exhaust note. While you might be able to get more of a snarl with a cheap airbox mod, you have to spend money to make it scream, and for that, exhaust is your only option. However, if you add a full blown CAI on top of that, you should be putting down ~ 170 bhp to the wheels.

When it gets hot out your mileage and power will suffer tremendously with heat soak from running with the top Off

This. It's very true in climates like florida, where I am. But anywhere you have stop and go the heatsoak will kill power.

here is what i have, alot cheaper than when i first got it

That may hold true, though I'm unsure of outside airflow to the open top box under hood. Unless you run without a hood.... No hate. Lol

475$ is way to high for what I think your looking at, the K&N Typhoon probably. Find a local shop and have them order it in, you'll save on shipping. May be a drive for you but probably less in gas and time than to ship. If you need help finding a shop I've got a few tuner buddies out in Edmonton I could ask for ya.
