For those of you who have tried both springs and coilovers, which one overs the smoother ride. I'm more concerned with ride comfort than anything. The sportlines drop the car 1.5 inches which is plenty for me and they are way cheaper then coilovers but if the coilovers over a better ride then i'll save the money and go that route. This is my DD so i want it as smooth as possible.

If you look in the V-Maxx thread you'll see that the Sportlines are:

A. Very close to the height of the V-Maxx coils.

B. Roughly 1/4 of the cost.

C. Designed for the Mk3.

Honestly, unless you are trying to tweak out every possible bit of low-just go with the Sportlines. There are almost no complaints of them at all and they ride really well (as stated by many user reviews). If ride quality is your question, Sportlines are your answer.

Nice, yeah i just read a long thread about springs and it said a lot of what you just said about the sportlines being a pretty comfortable ride while still giving you good lows. thanks for the reply!

That's good to know, maybe i'll have to go with the pro-kit. I'm doing it more then anything just for looks. I dont drive the car hard or race it in anyway, i just want to get rid of some of that crappy wheel gap.

I've seen pics with guys that put pro kits in there 2012-14 focus and it looks stock to me. I would suggest the Steeda springs if you want a mild drop over the pro kit

Sportlines ride pretty good and they sit great too. But after a while you will see the adverse effects on the factory dampeners. Struts become slightly bouncy and don't ride as well. I would really recommend konis or billstiens. But all in all the Sportlines are pretty sweet
