Question Stock Blaupunkt Head Unit

Howdy there guys, I've got a question about my Blaupunkt radio in my '03 ZX5. It doesn't have the 6-disc CD changer installed. I plan on adding an external subwoofer (with amplifier) from JL Audio and Jensen. I've heard that some people have to buy external connectors and a whole bunch of stuff to connect an amplifier. Is this always true?

Thanks in advance guys.

Moved to "Car Audio, Sync & MFT" section.

You may be able to find an answer searching this section, more likely to get useful responses here.

You will need to buy a low level speaker adapter to RCA and devise an amp turn on lead when you turn on ur stereo. Not hard but tricky to make sure you find the correct + and - for each speaker. A good aftermarket stereo will have all these and get a wire harness. Crutchfield.com has all that free when you buy a stereo. Really good support also,

Thanks for moving it sailor, this will be a better section for it. Some people have said that their stock Blaupunkt systems (without the 6 disc changer) have found out that their systems are prewired for a sub, but I haven't removed my head unit to confirm this.

You're Welcome!

Found info on mine here (6-Disc), but not good news for me - no easy way to do an aux. input on my model.

I'm still trying to figure out why some have a 6-disc changer and why some don't. For me personally, it isn't that big of a deal not to have one, but it would be nice to just keep all my CDs in there.
