ZTW Questions

Ok, so I've been a long time reader first time poster on this forum. Im working on a 2002 ZTW 5 speed with a 2.0 DOHC Zetec. This car has higher mileage, which i had bought for 400 bucks, and right now its my daily driver. I've knocked out most of the major gremlins that are associated with this car( the rear control arms, that infamous "focus idle" and the like) I've upgraded all of these areas as I go as to one day when this motor dies to either do a performance zetec build or an svt transplant(yeah I know its a pain, but I can get a whole svt driveline setup from a friend of miine for like 300 bucks to play with) First, i wanted to know what EXACTLY is the difference on the wagon Vs. the SVT exhaust and is it even worth it to get an SVT style exhaust? Ive heard about people buying up these fancy Borla Exhausts and then turning around and having to chop them all up to make them fit. I mean if its just the end pipe that needs to be longer it seems to me that there should be a more simple fix than just cutting up an exhaust and having a bunch of additional points where the exhaust could fail. I have a ton more questions as this car is higher mileage and would like to know some things before I go further, so any help with this first issue would help me out trememndously. thanks guys!

As far as I've read the wagon's just longer, so you could probably just shorten one of the straight sections, but I don't know for a fact

It's a little less than a foot difference in the length.

Walker Exhaust usually has diagrams of all the exhaust systems and part numbers of what is different between stock versions. Thought I'd mention this in case it helps your research. I know the heat shields are different on my wagons than the other versions, so I'm guessing one or more pipes is slightly longer.

By the way, welcome to the elite 5 speed wagon club. Not many of us.

You will need the ECU, wiring harness and the keys from the SVT to make the drivetrain work correctly.
