im pushin 243k now, just shredded all the teeth off my timing belt, put a new one on and it fired up.

With all the talk of spi motors trashing valves when the belt goes, it's nice to see that some of them survive!! :)
I used to hear stories about bent valves with our Escort GT motors, but over the years I owned 5 or 6 GTs and a 4 door that all lived after losing the timing belt. Never had a single trashed motor, and they too were interference motors. I lost one belt while I was racing and the motor was at like 5k rpm.
