you should replace the pcv and then drive it. may get some copper spark plugs. It really going to be pretty damn smooth once you fix the underlying issue. I think the duratec uses autolite 105, but don't quote me on that.

103ar superhot per plug sticky, gap .55 8-)

so I think I found the problem, some idiot that recently removed and cleaned it
AIC kind fux0erd a screw going in. I lubed it with lucas and then rescrewed it into the base. Now the AIC should fully seat and then I bet he runs much better. But since I've removed the throttlebody and intake parts all I have left are IM Bolts. WTF is it 5 6 7 or 8???????

Im confused because of 2004 removal tuts and I am green at cracking open a block of any kind.

Damnit Jim Im not a country doctor, Im a freak neurosurgeon!!!!

f00kit, Ima read some more and take it apart Sunday and replace it. I wanna see if my theroy about the AIC is correct. I also cleaned the TB butterfly extremely well, it was highly carbonated and a little sticky, not it flips and flops with ferrrring!!

Ima leave the underskit off and just reattach the radiator bolts. Then it shouldnt take me but a few hours to remove the IM Sunday since I did the dry run today........

Not the Edit >>> Oh and an update, Pat ran but very poorly UNLESS I manually shift from 1st to 2nd to drive. Is there anyway the transmission could be part of the p00r performance? And is it possible to install the AIC upside down and if so would that impact performance?

welllll

Looks like we will never know.

I totaled Pat on Saturday February the 22nd on my way to the Houston FF meeting. It was a scary ride to say the least. I am OK, but Pat did no survive....

I got extensive chest bruising and 27 stiches in my left knee. Looks like I lost a fight with Wolverine.....

Im in search of another Foci, Pat II!

WAY too late for the "Ride of the Month" "and I survived" feature, sorry to hear "Pat" isn't with us & certainly glad to hear YOU made it!

Take care & heal up from the Wolverine attack, searching for a good replacement might take a bit - good one will find you in the end.

I might get a 2002 Mazda protégé for the time being. /me runs and hides.......

Like you said, Im still here and Pat can easily "re-inhabit" the next one. Thank God I have an angel watching over me.

I might get a 90/91 AWD protege if I ever come across one. Those things are awesome.
