Can ford install MFT or should I take another route?

I really like sync and don't want to loose any functions. I have a 12 SEL with the 4.2" radio screen. I really want in dash navi but still want to keep the steering wheel controls and the armrest usb inputs active. I've seen a ton of those aftermarket touch screens from Hong Kong or China. It's difficult to decipher if all the functionality will be there. I did find an android powered touch screen. That caught my eye. Also they have 3G capabilities? I'm not a tech dummy just new to The Ford tech.
That pic is my setup

i guess it really depends on what your budget is, ford can install the MFT but your probably looking at a couple grand... your cheapest option might be the offshore option. the android one would be interesting as it might perform better.

The chances of a Ford dealer installing MFT would be about the same as a Ford dealer installing a manual transmission in place of an automatic.

Ford dealers won't even install navigation (software) on a MFT system that doesn't have it.

What I have done so far to my non-Sirius satellite equipped 2012 SEL is to buy a salvaged head unit that came out of a 2012 Sirius-equipped SE along with the matching face plate and swapped out my head unit and face plate. Took all of ten minutes. I need to three more things to get Sirius enabled/active is to 1) buy the new satellite antenna pieces and install them or get them installed 2) go to the dealer and have them enable Sirius as a factory option and 3) add the new ESN to my existing Sirius account.

Swapping a MFT unit into your Focus might not be that simple. I'm not 100% sure my swap will work either.

At a minimum you would have to buy a salvage head unit (not 100% certain about that), the LCD module and the appropriate face plate. You would then need to have a dealer enable it all (or attempt to).

Thanks for your input. It's sounds like I would be better off going the aftermarket route. As long as sync would still work I'm happy. I think my best option is to wait a while longer and see what comes out of the aftermarket

If you're going aftermarket and don't mind getting your hands 'dirty' - try putting in a tablet.

I actually have MFT with Nav in mine, but the functionality of have an Android tablet is really cool and something I would totally do if I didn't already have MFT.
