Looking forward to testing this unit out on my 2009! So what did you do with the old intake piece at the front? I'm referring to that black piece that lets air in through the front of the car. The SRI uses it to add extra air.. Did you just leave it disconnected?

EDIT: I bought the ITG dust stuff.. Did you have to use some right away or is the filter fine?

Does anybody know what the purpose is of the hose that goes where the cap is? Because I have two hoses connecting to the stock rubber jacket. Is this a non-pzev thing or something?

Any reports on fuel economy impact?

Debating over this or a short-ram. Thanks.

The filter comes pre-treated, but you may want to clean it after a while. I cleaned mine before I went on a long road trip. You wash it out with water and let it air dry (preferably over night). You then recoat the filter with the ITG spray. I use a spray similar to it that is for foam filters for motorcycles. Getting the ITG spray ground shipped to me was a rip off.

I was under the impression it was for PZEV. I don't have anything connected there. It hasn't come loose either and I have had my intake since the middle of 2011.

I didn't notice an impact on my fuel economy. Stayed pretty much the same.

I haven't had any problems with my intake, it has been installed since 2011. Only problems I had were during install that I have fixed. I posted about it on here and it actually started quite a conversation. I broke both of the band clamps (I guess I am stronger than I think) so I bought some heavy duty ones. I also bought Samco couplers, one of them is custom because the throttle body diameter is different from the intake tube diameter.
