SYNC Flash drive and MP3 encoder suggestions

OK, I'm sick of getting the message that says something like "The media file is corrupt or non-system blah blah blah I don't wanna play it". Yet sometimes it plays it, and sometimes it's a song that it played yesterday that it won't want to play today. Occasionally it will be playing, and then just quit playing and display this message.

I've done SYNCMyiTunes.

I record all my songs at 320kbps stereo using iTunes, and nearly all of them are from store bought CDs. I don't know if sampling rate matters. I don't see why the kbps would matter it has not affected any MP3 players I've ever used- until now. That's the only thing I can think that it is.

I'm using a Kingston 32Gb flash drive, and I have the latest SYNC.

Any thoughts on what the F is going on with this stupid thing? I'm sofa king PO'd at it.

Be eclectic.

when I make my own, I use exact audio copy for extracting the original uncompressed sound, and lame mp3 with the razer gui interface to encode the mp3s. Then I use tag scanner to take care of the metadata.

You have to encode the mp3 at 44.1 khz and I always encode at a variable rate of 96 - 320 with a focus on higher quality.

From what you said, I doubt that it's an issue with the files themselves.
Possibilities include a defective flash drive or a hardware problem (USB related).

Is there any consistency? For example, it is possible to play a particular song (file) from beginning to end with no problem and then have a problem with the same file?

Hey, whynotthinkwhynot,

Do you keep your USB flash drive plugged in at all times, or do you take it out when you leave your vehicle?
