Essentially what I have been saying over and over is this:
Clearly the DCT is capable of working well (because lots of folks tell us this).
If yours isn't working well, the dealer should fix it.

I have stated many times that the DCT issues have been greatly exacerbated by poor dealer service.
Kabigon, I give you a hard time but believe it or not, we are on the same side. I would like to see the Focus continue to succeed. It is a wonderful car.

Poor dealer service is a major factor but that might have been a lesser issue were it not for a defective initial release of the DCT. I believe the fact that we are now up to clutch revision "D" validates my argument. I have read several anecdotal reports from members who have the D clutch revision that report resolution of their issues. Time will tell.

Just wait for summer. 2014 owners have only driven theirs in the cold so far, and yes, it does make a difference. Also, the number of complaints from 2014 owners are likely lower because there are fewer 2014 owners and they have driven fewer miles overall. I do not believe any magic fix was implemented between 2013 and 2014.

I think most of us never bought the malarkey that:

a) It is normal

c) it only effects a really small percentage of the Foci sold

For whatever reason, a small but vocal minority has wanted to piss in our ears and convince us it is raining (and babble on incoherently about firmware ). Not sure why. Anyone with their eyes and ears open could see the truth.

i traded my 1012 SEL in for a huge loss but i had no confidence in the DCT technology anymore. loved the car. hated the transmission when mine started grinding. it's not my problem anymore.

Here's one of the problems, malfunctions/leaks/updates aside it STILL won't feel like an "automatic".

Promoted as the "automated manual transmission" it is, there might have been more understanding of the benefits & limitations.

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/r....org%2F8287%2F

This article posted by Wavesine was one of the best I've seen on the transmission & how it was intended to work.

And NOT telling users about the features that attempt to "train" them in it's best use was a major "Fail". This should have been in both sales literature & the owner's manual.

"The Economy benefits of a Manual, automated for easy everyday use" might have been one good advertising line...
