I see this as a great step forward, but a little expensive for 7% maximum more airflow, assuming the throttle body is a bottleneck on the NA Focus.

Just to put it into perspective, please take this into account:

Home porting the throttle body isn't really a possibility for bore size increase. Perhaps a skilled porter could gather better airflow through reshaping the housing overall, but I'd leave that to the pros.

The only way to open up the smallest part of the throttle body, which is the most difficult place, is to port the throttle plate area itself. This means you will need a new throttle plate made to pretty exacting standards, and a perfectly round port job around the housing, or the car will not idle correctly anymore. To give an idea, the entire range of idle control built in from the factory is about the size of a kabob skewer. If you think you can make a perfect circle so exactly that the plate seals to the housing bore, while being held with two shaft screws drilled to exactly position the plate in the center, then be my guest.

$210 after core is most likely a start-up price. If sales are good, it might actually drop as the concept has been proven, porting becomes more systematic, and semi-mass production of the plates becomes cheaper overall.

Personally, I'd wait it out. I'd bet a V6 Taurus throttlebody or something similar will work, and be made to work in the near future.

Cliff's Notes: Do not try this at home, you'll need a new throttle body.

I wouldn't mind seeing a mill shop for an adaptor for a v6 mustang throttle body then just running the wires to the connector (73mm throttle body)

Throttle body looks the same as the MK2's maybe I can swap a newer Focus throttle body on for an improvement.
