18x8 Rim with 235/40R18 on SVT

I've done some searching on this and I can't find anything pertaining to my specific sizes. I have a 2003 SVTF with stock suspension and I'm looking to run 235/40R18 rubber on the car with 18x8 rims. I would be getting the tires for free and am wondering if they would fit on my car (the tires are coming from a 2012 Focus Titanium with the handling package). I think if i can fit the tire on an 8 inch wide rim I'll be okay, but does anyone know if I will rub at all?
Thanks in advance!

The OEM wheel offset should be more than enough to clear any suspension components on your year model.

just in case anyone finds this thread, I was told 18x8 would not fit unless a high offset was used, requiring fender modifications

The wheels you are describing should be +50mm or +55mm offset and should fit.

Entire conversation is invalid.

2003-4x108 bolt pattern

2012-5x108 bolt pattern

You would need a hub adapter to even begin to think about this, and they are generally 25mm thick.

Just the tires dyn, not the wheels themself. OP, can you confirm? Are you asking if the tires/wheels from a 2012 will work or if just the tires? What 18" wheel are you using and what is their offset?

just tires, sorry if I wasn't clear about that. I took a rim off my SVT and held the tires in question up in the wheel well and it's clear that I'd have clearance issues. Thanks for the replies guys. Will be selling tires, in case anyone's interested. Will post in B-S-T forum soon.

EDIT: Also, i have no 18" rims. I posted this to see if I would be able to fit some on before I made the investment in new rims.

yeah those tires would be about an inch taller than what you would need for a 1st gen focus. ideally, if you were wanting to do an 8" rim, id suggest a slight stretch to make sure everything fit nicely. best of luck with the sale, im sure some mk3 guy will want your tires
