For all the ST owners out there. I am curious to know what are the real world MPGs you are experiencing with your ST. I know the ST is rated for 32MPG Highway but I know that is probably too high.

I do a lot of stop and go traffic in my commute (along with some highway) so MPG is important to me. However, I am intrigued with the ST. Currently, I have a Ti Hatch 5spd and I am averaging about 30 MPG with combined City/Highway driving. There is a blog on edmonds.com with a guy driving the ST and he said he is at best getting about 22 MPG on average (sometimes he gets much lower than that).
what does that mean? he either averages 22 mpg or he doesn't. my SEL that I just traded in was driven 17k miles this year with an average of 28.6 mpg. I mostly drive in town but what raised my average was about 5k miles of road trips.

today was my first full day driving the ST. my impression is I would have averaged maybe 22 mpg with this car under the same circumstances.

when do you guys shift? for my previous manual cars I always shift at around 3k rpm, but for ST the green arrow comes on so early (it tells you to shift to save gas) like around 2200rpm!!! so when do you guys shift? I do around 3k and city I get 22mpg.

how about with AC on? It doesn't affect MPG much does it? mayve something is wrong with my car I am getting 21.5 combined.

What's the highest possible speed to get the max 32MPG on highway? anyone know?

In all city driving I can get between 24 - 25 MPG. This morning during my 25 mile, all highway commute (with very light traffic), I got 33MPG! That is rare though as I don't usually travel in all highway traffic. In mix driving (city and highway), I am pretty much getting the average MPG of about 26.

tested it a little bit the other day on a 16 miles trip, it was 14 miles highway and 2 miles local, on highway I got like 35.5 going 72mph and overall 32mpg . I guess my MPG is fine but maybe I need a longer trip to get more accurate result.

anyone know how accurate the car's MPG is? because the MPG was showing 22.7 and total trip miles was 230, and when I went fill up the gas it took 11.4 gallons until it clicks, and I never top off.

ok I will be taking a long trip soon and thinking about testing the MPG in different speeds on highway. on highway I plan to test 55mph, 65,75, and 85. how many miles do you guys think will be good for testing data? 10miles? 15?
